AI Travel Agent Simplifies Your Planning

Planning a vacation is supposed to be fun, but it usually ends up being a chore. You have 15 tabs open—Expedia for flights, TripAdvisor for hotels, and random blogs for 'hidden gems.' By the time you plan the trip, you are too tired to take it.

Existing AI tools like ChatGPT are okay, but they give generic advice like 'Visit the Eiffel Tower in Paris.' I wanted more. I wanted an agent that knows I love spicy food, hate tourist traps, and travel on a budget.

So, I built TripNiti. It’s a free, AI-powered travel agent that builds hyper-personalized, day-by-day itineraries for any city in the world in seconds. Here is how I built it for $0 using Google's new Gemini Flash mode.

The Problem: Generic Advice

Most AI tools treat travel like a Wikipedia entry. Ask for a "3-day trip to Tokyo," and you get the same list as everyone else: Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo Tower, and Sushi. But what if you are a vegetarian? What if you are traveling with a toddler? What if you hate crowds? I didn't want a list of places. I wanted a Plan.

The Solution: TripNiti (Built with Gemini 2.5)

I built TripNiti to be the travel agent I couldn't afford. It doesn't just "suggest" places; it builds a logistic engine for your trip.

Smart Routing: It groups attractions by location so you don't zig-zag across the city.
Budget Aware: It calculates costs in your local currency (USD, EUR, INR, etc.).
Hidden Gems: It specifically looks for spots rated highly by locals, not just tourists.

For the developers reading this: The secret sauce is Google's new Gemini 2.5 Flash-Lite model. Most apps use expensive models which cost money for every query. By optimizing the prompts and using the "Flash-Lite" architecture, I was able to make TripNiti:
